Bumpdate 28 weeks!

How far along: 28 weeks – third trimester!

Baby Size: Head to heel Baby G is measuring approximately 14.8 inches and weighs in between 2.0 to 2.5 pounds.  She is about the size of an eggplant.  She is putting on layers of fat and her skin has a smoother and less wrinkled appearance.  Her lungs continue to mature and it is likely that she could breathe on her own if she were born prematurely, however we want her to continue to grow until closer to her due date!

Maternity Clothes: Yes of course, loving the items of spring clothing I have picked up.

Sleep: Sleep is getting to be more and more difficult, rolling over is tough and my hips and back often hurt during the night.  Trips to the restroom are averaging 2-3 times.

Gender: A sweet little GIRL!

Movement: Oh yes!

Best moment this week:  We toured Fairview Southdale Hospital last Tuesday and it was fun to see the Birth Center, it is very nice and we are looking forward to touring the Mother Baby Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital as well.  Abbott is connected to Children’s and will likely be our first choice to have her at.

Also…passing my glucose test!!  So thankful I do not have to complete the three hour test.

Looking forward to: Working on the nurseryJ  The living room construction started today and will hopefully wrap up early next week and then it is time to get moving on the nursery.

Food cravings: Orange juice, toast with butter and steak…not any red meat, steak!  Not going to lie, I am loving Pirate Booty ice cream (caramel/vanilla ice cream with M&M's, oreo cookies and chocolate chips in it) as well! It is fantastic!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not sick but I cannot stand the smell of garlic.

Labor Signs: Absolutely not!

What I miss: A yummy bloody mary!  My fam enjoyed one before Easter dinner yesterday and it looked so good!

Symptoms: Growing bump, tired easily, slight swelling after a day of being on my feet, tough to breathe at times (she is squishing my lungs) and a little bit of heartburn.  Overall I am still feeling great and am very thankful for a relatively great pregnancy so far.

Nursery: The new windows are in her room and look fantastic!  Thanks to Uncle Bo for helping Mr. G move the armoire in to her nursery, it looks great!  I am so excited to clean it up and get her stuff organized.  We ordered a rug and the wall decal for her nursery, slowly but surely the nursery is coming together!

Wedding rings on or off: Wedding set is ON!

Mood: Great!

With love,

Mrs. G
